This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms regarding subscription cancellations and refund requests for CiteScore services. By subscribing to our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
2. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your CiteScore subscription at any time through your account settings. When you cancel your subscription:
- Your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period
- You will retain access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period
- No further charges will be made to your payment method after cancellation
- Your account will automatically downgrade to the Free tier when the paid period ends
- Your data and content will be preserved and accessible on the Free tier (subject to Free tier limits)
3. How to Cancel
To cancel your subscription:
- Log in to your CiteScore account
- Navigate to Settings → Billing
- Click "Manage Subscription" or "Cancel Subscription"
- Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation
You will receive an email confirmation once your cancellation has been processed.
4. Refund Policy
General Policy: Due to the nature of our digital services and the immediate access to AI-powered features upon subscription, we generally do not offer refunds for subscription fees already paid.
No Refunds For:
- Partial subscription periods
- Unused content generations or credits
- Subscription downgrades (difference will not be refunded)
- Failure to cancel before the renewal date
- Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality
- Changes in your business needs or circumstances
5. Exceptional Circumstances
We may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis under the following exceptional circumstances:
- Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged multiple times for the same subscription period
- Technical issues: If a significant technical problem on our end prevented you from accessing the service for an extended period
- Billing errors: If there was an error in the amount charged
To request a refund under exceptional circumstances, please contact our support team within 14 days of the charge with details of your situation.
6. Free Trial
If we offer a free trial period:
- You will not be charged during the free trial period
- You may cancel at any time during the trial without being charged
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged
- Charges made after a free trial period are subject to our standard no-refund policy
7. Annual Subscriptions
For annual subscription plans:
- Annual subscriptions are billed as a single upfront payment for the entire year
- Cancellation will take effect at the end of the annual billing period
- No partial refunds are provided for the remaining months of an annual subscription
- We recommend starting with a monthly plan if you want to evaluate the service before committing annually
8. Account Termination
If we terminate your account due to a violation of our Terms of Service:
- No refund will be provided for any remaining subscription period
- Access to the service will be revoked immediately
- We reserve the right to retain or delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
9. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our subscription prices at any time. If we change our prices:
- We will provide at least 30 days notice before the new prices take effect
- Existing subscribers will be notified via email
- You may cancel your subscription before the new prices take effect
- Continued use of the service after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing
